Animation

These are some animations that I have made for various advertisement campaigns and just for practice. Some of the different types of animation that I have experience with is 3D animation in Blender, motion graphics in Adobe After Effects and rotoscoping in Photoshop.

APEX Vanguard Commercial

This is a 3D animation that I did for a fictional company called APEX Games. It is a video game console that is meant to rival the Nintendo Switch. The console was modeled by me in Blender and the animation was also made in Blender. I knew I wanted four colors of the console so when looking for a song, I looked for one that would have four rapid beats in succession, or a song where they counted from one to four. Luckily I found this song and from there, I wanted to make an energetic video around the vibes of the music.

Rocket Ship Animation

This is a 3D animation that I had been planning to use in my APEX Games commercial. In the early conceptualization of the console and the advertisement campaign, I planned to use the rocket as the “mascot” and it would be shown on the screens of the consoles whenever they were turned on. This ended up getting scrapped because when I was making the commercial, I really liked the way that the stars reflected off of the screens of the console so I ended up leaving the rocket out. However, I thought that the rocket was too good to not show so it now accompanies the console as an early concept.

Fruitify Commercial

This is a 3D animation that I made for a fictional juice company called Fruitify. The commercial showcases three of their flavors that they are going to have. The whole idea of the juice brand is that it is an old company that is coming back to make drinks that they once did long ago. (Think like when Coca Cola temporarily brought back their “New Coke” drinks. When choosing a song to go with the commercial, I wanted to choose a song that had an original old version and a newer more modern remix of the song. That is when I found both of these songs and they worked perfectly. This is a bit slower paced compared to what I normally make, but I think that the commercial is still successful.

Level of Concern Animation

This is one of the longer motion graphic lyric videos that I have made. I thought that the song I chose had a 80s vibe, so I decided that I was going to make the motion graphic video have a 80s vibe as well. I used brighter colors and used a lot of vaporwave colors that fir the theme. All of the graphics were made in Illustrator and were later animated in After Effects.

BANG! Animation

This is one of the first motion graphic lyric videos that I made while trying to learn After Effects. I chose the song because of the catchy lyrics and the lyrics themselves because I was able to easily imagine what I wanted to do for the video. All of the graphics in the video were made In Illustrator and were later imported into After Effects where I animated them and the words.

Weight of the World Animation

The Weight of the World motion graphic is the first motion graphic that I ever made in After Effects. I chose a song that had a good beat drop and good rhythm overall. I tried to match all of the movements with the beats in the song to try and capture the energy that the music was giving off. I used simple shapes because I was mainly trying to focus on smooth movements and animation.

Rotoscope Animation

This is a short rotoscope of a music video that I have recorded for a music video. Although the clip here is short, this ended up taking many hours over the course of a coupe days. The rotoscope is nowhere near complete, however it shows my capabilities with rotoscope. The frames were made one by one in Photoshop.
