Graphic Design

On this page, you will find projects and pieces that specifically focus on my illustration skills, typography skills, and compositional skills. Some of these are just parts of larger projects, but I wanted to show them off by highlighting on the detail that I put into my work. Most things that I make related to graphic design are either made in Illustrator or Photoshop, depending on what is needed for each project.

 Fruitify Drink Wrappers

These three images are the wrappers that I made for the Fruitify juice company. When making these labels, I wanted them to have bright colors that would pop out to the user when looking at all the juices in the juice aisle. The colors allow the customer to immediately know what flavor each one is. The colored stripe moves through and around the nutrition facts and copy of the label which makes the overall design more interactive compared to other labels that just lay the nutrition facts on top of the design. Design Culture Now

This poster is a fictional poster that was made to advertise an event called “Design Culture Now”. I tried to make the poster pop out via its use of color and I also angled the whole poster to give it a dynamic appearance. The important details are the easiest to read and then the longer you look at it, the more information you will absorb about the event.

 High Tide Kombucha

High Tide kombucha is another drink that I have made the wrappers for. I had a relatively same approach when making these labels compared to the Fruitify labels. I wanted them to stand out to the customer and I wanted them to also know which flavor they were looking at even when far away. For the fruit designs, I really wanted to show off the detail in each fruit so I hand drew each one and tried to add a lot of detail.

Book Cover

This is a book cover for the book “The Hunger Games”. I wanted to try and create a simple cover that was headlined by a design that is realted to the story. In this case, I used an arrow because the main character in the story is a sharpshooter with arrows. Wrapping around the back of the book is a silhouette that is shooting an arrow. This is something that viewers might not notice right away, but when the cover is laid flat, it looks like one continuous image.

Video Game Illustration

This is an illustration that was originally intended to represent a raffle prize at a giveaway. My goal was to make a stylized illustration of the console and I also had to make two other kinds of these for other gifts that were being raffled off. This illustration was also made into stickers that would eventually be given away with the gift.

Dialogue Poster

This is a project where I had to incorporate three quotes from three different sources and put them all into one poster and try and convey an emotion. My main goals with this were to try and construct a good composition primarily using text and it shape. I talk about this project more here if you would like to read more about it and my thought process when approaching this project.

Summer Sessions

This poster was made to advertise summer classes for the University of the Pacific. This poster has some raelly detailed illustrations that show off my illustrative capabilities. You can read more about my process here.
